Numerus & Phonics Are Here — Train Spoken Numbers and Letters on BlitzMemory

BlitzMemory has always tried to bring events that don’t exist anywhere else: Sounds, Echopic, and now two brand new spoken events: Numerus (spoken numbers) and Phonics (spoken letters).

How they work

Both events play automatically at one digit or letter per second. There’s no pausing, no player control over playback: it keeps going whether you’re ready or not. This is a departure from Sounds and Echopic, where you control when audio plays. With Numerus and Phonics, full concentration is non-negotiable. One distraction and you’ve already missed items.

What makes Phonics special

Spoken letters as a memory event is genuinely new territory. It hasn’t been done in competition or training platforms before. Letters also present a unique challenge because many share similar sounds, so your encoding system has to be sharp.

Language options

  • Numerus: 55 languages available
  • Phonics: 30 languages available (some languages were excluded due to translation issues or the absence of a Latin alphabet)

You’re not locked into English — train in whatever language works best for you or use it to push yourself with something unfamiliar.

A hidden milestone

If you reach the maximum number of digits or letters for whatever time variant you’re competing in, something special happens. It works for both events across all timer options. That’s all we’ll say for now. hahah
